Day 13: 114.4 pounds
Only 7 pounds to go! I think I’m going to cut back to 1200-1400 calories for the next two weeks, just so I can hit that 10 pound mark. After that, my plan is to continue with the weight loss journal, and move into maintenance for the next two months.
I also decided to start a sub-reddit for anyone who wants to lose 10 pounds and have some accountability. If you want to join, head over to my sub-reddit here.
You CAN Reach Any Weight Loss Goal
One critical weight loss mindset that I underestimated was simply the belief that my goal was within my reach. That I actually could reach my weight loss goal.
In 2020, (at 46 years old) I decided I was tired of spending HALF of my life chasing a weight loss goal. I decided my goal was impossible. That, my body must be broken. I ate healthy and exercised for my ENTIRE life! And I still struggled with my weight.
So, in December 2019, I told my husband, “I’m going to give ONE THOUSAND percent to sticking with a diet for the next 6 months. If I stick to it 1000% and still can’t lose weight, I obviously have a “broken metabolism”, and I’m just going to schedule an appointment for liposuction.” Haha.
Well, turns out, when I truly give 1000% effort, I ACTUALLY can lose weight. And, I can lose enough to get on a stage in a bikini.
Now, fast forward 2 1/2 years, this 10lbs I want to lose right now feels 100% achievable. I know I can do it, because I’ve done it before. I know how it feels at that weight, cause I was just there this summer. Knowing I can get there makes the process so much less stressful, and I’m confident in both my diet, and my results.
My Meals
Yesterday, I was under on my calories. It was closer to 1400. The longer I’ve been not eating between meals, and prioritizing the protein, the less of an appetite I have. I’m not complaining, but I am saying it’s different for me to feel this way. Before I lost weight, I felt like I wanted to eat ALL the food, ALL the time.
For my meals, I ate
- A Bagel Egg sandwich
- Green salad with chicken breasts and Bolthouse Ranch dressing
- Cookies and Cream protein powder with almond milk and ice! YUMMY!
- and Roasted chicken with potatoes and broccoli for dinner!
My Workout
Today was leg day, and I ran 7 miles on the treadmill! Felt great. Lot’s of energy.
That’s it for today. Be back tomorrow!
