Why are Weight Loss Motivation Quotes Important?
Weight loss is one of those things that is deeply personal. Often, it involves vulnerable feelings about the things we most dislike about ourselves. And, usually, weight loss is a slow process that requires discipline, perseverance, and patience. Because of this, it is easy to get discouraged and want to quit.
Motivational quotes about weight loss can help to counteract the negative thoughts in our head that say we aren’t strong enough to keep going, that it will never work, and even that it is pointless to try.
Weight loss motivational quotes are a tool to change the way you think about your weight loss process and everything that goes into that. (workouts, eating, body image, and so much more!)
Quotes To Get You Going!
It has been a long road for me when it comes to fitness, so I GET IT. (Read my story here)!
I felt like a failure for YEARS, but I just kept trying. My hope is that every time you fall down, you will pick yourself up and try again.
These are quotes that have helped me continue with courage and hope, even when I felt frustrated or discouraged. Hopefully, they will help you too!
- “Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” – Victor Frankl
There are two important lessons I learned in mindful eating.
- One is to consciously choose your food. Don’t just react to impulsive cravings.
- And the second is to not be distracted while you eat a meal. When you don’t notice the food you’re eating, you’ll never be satisfied by food.
- “Our weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” – Thomas A. Edison
I tried soooo many different diets and food trends. And while those didn’t work out for me, I am glad that I kept going. Eventually, I figured out how to live a healthy, sustainable lifestyle. BUT I never would’ve gotten there if I had given up.
- “You are not defined today by the feelings you felt yesterday”
The LAST thing I want you to do is look at the number today and decide that it means your plan is or isn’t working.
Whether you “messed up” yesterday, or you did great yesterday, today is a new day and the scale does not reflect whether you were good or bad yesterday.
- “The temptation to quit will be the greatest, just before you are about to succeed!” – Bob Parsons
Only you can decide if a life of discipline is more joyful than a life of indulgence.
But I promise you this, you might love the results sooo much that you’ll never go back to eating impulsively. I know I did!
- One study found, “NOT eating a food reduced cravings more effectively than eating the food!” – Harvard

So, taking my own advice to practice the resistance tomorrow!
- “Success is the sum of small efforts, day in and day out” – Robert Collier
What’s one small thing you are doing, that you consider a success for the day- even if you went a bit over on calories or missed your workout? Did you drink water instead of soda? Did you get 10K steps in, even though you didn’t strength train?
Acknowledge those, because even the small wins matter!!
- “There’s never a perfect time. You’re never 100% ready. Things are constantly changing (and that’s ok).”
How many times have you told yourself that you’ll start your new program once you have “all the pieces in place”. Or have all the information. Or read the book.
NEWS FLASH: You’ll never be 100% ready! Just do something today!
- “What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.”-

- That fit neighbor
- The person that can walk past a plate of cookies without being tempted?

- The mom that is always first to volunteer to take the kids roller blading or for a pickup game of frisbee?

Time will pass regardless, so let’s get on it!

Personally, I only meal prep my proteins for the week. If I spend too much time in the kitchen I start to snack! So if you want to be prepared but also want to manage your food intake, try meal prepping a portion of your upcoming meals for the week!
- “Fall 7 Days, Stand Up 8!”
Commitment to your health requires standing back up, every time you fall. So what if it is 10 a.m. and you ate something off-plan? Who cares!! The rest of the day you can practice discipline. Don’t give up!
- ” To lose weight permanently requires faith – faith there is a bigger life waiting for you beyond food and weight!” – Catherine L. Taylor
Do you TRULY believe you can achieve lasting weight loss? I mean REALLY believe it? With a thread of doubt, it’s so easy to give up.
As soon as the thoughts creep in like “what’s the point, I’ll never reach this goal”, I give myself permission to quit.
But, if you TRULY believe that this time is different, you can get there! If you need to use this thought, please do: If Amy can do it, ANYONE can do it!!
- “You must learn a new way to think before you can master a new way to be!” – Marianne Williamson
