Hi! I’m Amy, creator and owner of Heath Beet.
I share low calorie recipes and portion control hacks to get you eating healthier, feel lighter, and satisfied with less food, to make weight loss finally possible!
I started my career in the health field in 1998 when I graduated from BYU in Community Health. I began working at the Utah State Department of Health right away, counseling employees about healthy habits.
At the health department I learned a lot about habits and behavior around food. Everyone desired to eat healthier, feed their family balanced meals, and stop overeating.
That’s when I developed the first portion control plate for kids. To sell the plates, I started a website called Superhealthykids.com. On this new site, I shared food ideas, recipes, healthy strategies, and of course, sold those plates!
From 2007-2018 I worked at building a community at Super Healthy Kids and found millions of parents that connected with our message, and desired to feed their family better. The portion control plates were an affordable solution that not only taught kids what they should be eating, but also reminded the parents to keep their meals in balance to reduce cravings and overeating.
January 2019 I sold my ownership in Super Healthy Kids because my kids grew up and I wasn’t feeding them any more. I rebranded the portion control plates and launched Health Beet. Today, those portion control plates are the #1 seller on Amazon with more than 100,000 families lives changed.

I have 3 kids ages 20, 18, and 16 who really do eat healthy food, most of the time. We live in Utah, so we love to explore the mountains, hike the deserts, and kayak down the rivers.
Running is 100% my favorite past time. I’ve run 4 marathons to date, and am part of a streak runners club, where I run every single day. You can follow my streak on Instagram or Strava.
