I had seen some Youtubers make crepes with just protein powder and egg whites. I’ve never been excited about protein drinks, because I just prefer to EAT my calories, but I also am trying to get a lot of protein in to prep for my first NPC show! So, when I saw people use protein powder and egg whites for crepes, I knew I wanted to try it.

The concept is simple. Simply blend 1 scoop of protein powder and 1/2 cup of egg whites. I actually made these several times. The first time, although the taste didn’t change much, they looked like omelettes! I wanted to share photos on the blog, but I wanted them to look like crepes and not omelettes. Which is why I added the cinnamon the second time.

Do the low carb crepes taste good?

Well, I wouldn’t make them for Easter brunch, but when you need some quick protein, these will work. They might take a little getting used to, but if you are into protein powder recipes, or you’re on a weight loss program, you’ll be OK with the taste.

How many grams of protein in the low carb crepes?

How low carb and high protein are these crepes? 37 grams of protein for the ENTIRE recipe! And because of the protein powder I used, only 3 grams of carbs. I also have a protein powder pancake that is similar, but I add sweet potato to it, and baking powder to make it more pancake than crepe. That one clocks in at 57 calories and 7 grams of protein per pancake.

What to fill your low carp protein powder crepes with

Well, this is the best part, but of course, most fillings that are delicious aren’t going to be low carb any more. So choose your fillings wisely!

  • Greek yogurt (this keeps the crepes high in protein)
  • Baked apples with cinnamon
  • Strawberries and cream
  • Peaches and cream
  • Nutella and peanut butter
  • Zero calorie syrup.
