Since entering a bodybuilding contest, I’m always looking for ways to hit my protein intake for the day. One easy way is with this high protein ice cream recipe! You only need strawberries, milk, and protein powder and you can have this high protein ice cream too!
Previously, I’ve made banana flavored high protein ice cream. And while that is pretty good, I don’t always have frozen bananas.
Now however, we’re headed into strawberry season, and I can’t resist adding strawberries to everything. Even when strawberries aren’t in season, frozen strawberries, which you can get year round, is perfect for this ice cream!
Strawberry High Protein Ice Cream
- 30 g Strawberry protein powder
- 1 cup skim milk
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- Blend all ingredients and freeze until set.
Of course, the variations on this can be all over the place. You can sub out any flavored protein powder. Vanilla or strawberry work the best for that rich strawberry flavor.
What’s the best protein powders?
My favorite high protein powders are ones that have under 150 calories per 25 grams of protein. I’ve been using the Optimum Whey, and Combat brands from Costco. I’ve also tasted 13 different protein powders and wrote a post about the ones I liked best vs worst protein powders here!
