Although we’re in the coldest months of the year, I am still in the mood for some protein ice cream almost every afternoon! It’s just such an easy way to pack an extra 20 grams of protein in during the day, and protein ice cream for me honestly tastes like I’m cheating on my diet.

My goal each day is to hit 100+ grams of protein. Although, I’m not afraid of carbs, I do know that when I hit 100 grams of protein, I feel much more in control of my appetite. (check out my current meal plans here)

How to make Chocolate Protein Ice Cream

I’ve made protein ice cream so many different ways. But I KEEP COMING BACK to my 2 ingredient recipe: Frozen bananas and protein powder.

That’s all you need! In fact, I finally caved and bought a normal size food processor because I was making this so much. I had a mini one before, which got the job done, but you had to hold the button down the entire time it processed. With my new one, you push the button and can literally walk away. I LOVE IT!!

I also ALWAYS replenish my frozen banana stash. I peel a banana and break it in half. Then I put it in a mini sandwich bag and put it in the freezer. I have a frozen banana ready for me every afternoon.

I also like to get creative with the protein powder or add-ins to make different flavors. And, I think you’d agree, chocolate is a winner! If you don’t have chocolate protein powder, you can use vanilla protein powder and add 1 tablespoon or less of cocoa powder. Also good!

So, give this chocolate protein ice cream a try, and also check out my other protein ice cream recipes!
