Learning, Lifting, and Long Distance Running (plus a 1450 calorie day)
My three passions in life are : Learning, Lifting, and Long Distance Running. Truly, everything I do revolves around those things. So, my random thoughts about all three and how they are fitting into my life right now.
- Learning: I’m currently taking a college Spanish class, I’m taking piano lessons from a neighbor. I just finished a culinary program through Park City Culinary Institute. I just graduated with a masters of Business from the University of Utah. I’m a FOREVER student. However, I just applied and was interviewed for Goldman Sach’s 10K small businesses. It’s a business type program that requires about 10 hours of in class/and out of class work a week, from March through June. It’s actually my third time applying. The first two times, I got rejected. I haven’t found out if I’ve been accepted to this one yet, but I’m starting to feel like it’s not the right thing for me right now. While I love business, and I love learning, I wonder if it would be just a review of what I just learned in my Masters of Business. I haven’t been accepted yet, but I can’t stop thinking about whether I’ll participate or not. Ugh.
- Long Distance Running: So, I was accepted, AND I PAID for the Boston Marathon in April. However, I’m really trying to save money this year. In fact, I think If I didn’t spend any money from now until November, that I could pay off my house. Which would be AMAZING to have that paid off before my 50th birthday. ALL the flights, and the hotels in Boston in April are seriously, OUTRAGEOUS! So, I feel like I shouldn’t go. Ugh!! Tough decision number 2!!
- And finally, I love lifting. Which Is the reason I signed up for the bikini show. Since I’ve paid for that and committed to the June show with a friend of mine, I’m 100% in on that. I’ve been lifting heavy, and loving it.
Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. These things are weighing heavy on me and I just needed to share.
And finally, if you’re here for my Full day of Eating for Bikini prep 2023, Day 6 is posted below!

Last night, we went out to eat for Valentine’s Day. Although we rarely eat out, I don’t think it’s difficult to stay on a plan these days when you eat out. I can almost always find some version of chicken and veggies, and many restaurants share their nutrition info!
Although this restaurant didn’t have their nutrition info online, and I couldn’t measure my food accurately, I’m usually good with estimating, and so that’s what I did.
Breakfast: 1 egg, 1/2 cup egg whites, 1/2 ounce cheese, 1 slice bread, 1 strawberry]
Lunch: 3 ounces Pork shoulder, light string cheese, 2 tablespoons bolthouse ranch dressing, lettuce, and another slice of bread!
Snack: Built Bar Mint, 2/3 cup plain greek yogurt with sugar free pistachio mix, whipped cream, and Bucked Up Caramel Apple Pre-workout.
Dinner: We went out to dinner for Valentine’s Day. I got 6 ounces chicken thighs and a side salad with ranch. (I took off the skin from my chicken thighs).
Extras: Lifesavers and vitamin C gummies
