In an attempt to hit 150 g of protein a day (see this article about the calories and macros I follow for bikini prep) I sometimes have to get creative with protein sources. You can only eat so much chicken before you just want to not!

So, that’s why I like to experiment with protein powder. And right now, this is my favorite way to eat protein powder!!

Why You’ll Love It:

  • Quick and easy (ready in minutes)
  • High in protein (30g per serving)
  • No baking required
  • Tastes like a childhood favorite

What You’ll Need to Make this Protein Frosting Snack:

  • UMP Angel Food Cake protein powder
  • Sugar-free cheesecake pudding mix
  • Pasteurized egg whites
  • Graham crackers

How to Make an Addictive Protein Graham Cracker Snack:

In a small bowl, mix the protein powder, pudding mix, and egg whites until smooth. You’re looking for a thick, frosting-like consistency. Spread the mixture evenly over your graham crackers and enjoy immediately.

Important Tips for Best Results:

The protein powder you use really matters in this recipe. Some powders absorb more liquid than others, so you may need to adjust the amount of egg whites. Start small and add more gradually until you reach that perfect frosting texture. The UMP is both casein and whey. The results in texture are different with a whey only protein.

Taste is just as important as texture. Since this recipe isn’t baked or heavily flavored, you’ll want to use a protein powder you genuinely enjoy on its own. That flavor will shine through in every bite.

If you’re looking for a simple way to upgrade your snacks while still satisfying your sweet tooth, this protein graham cracker snack is definitely worth trying.

Alternative options and flavors

If you want an even TASTIER version, I love using pistachio pudding mix as the base!! You must try this. Lemon is also good!

MOST IMPORTANT RECIPE NOTE:

The protein powder MATTERS for 2 reasons:

1) The consistency. UMP is more absorbent to liquids than other protein powders I’ve tried. For this reason, 5 tablespoons egg whites is the perfect amount. Your protein powder might need LESS. As few as 2 tablespoons. Only use enough to make the consistency end up like frosting.
2) THE TASTE!! You HAVE to l ike the taste of your protein powder, independent of this recipe. I LOVE the taste of UMP. Most days, I will mix it just with the egg whites and LICK it off my spoon. it’s THAT GOOD.
