I combined this broccoli with a red onion, and it was perfect to top with some rice. Hope you’ll give it a try.
Broccoli in Garlic Sauce
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 lb broccoli crowns
- 1/2 medium red onion
- 5 cloves garlic minced or pressed
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon corn starch
- 1 dash salt and pepper
Instructions
- Prepare the sauce by mixing sugar, soy sauce and corn starch in a small bowl.
- Heat pan with the sesame oil to medium heat. When the pan is hot, add onions and garlic. Give them a quick sauté for 2 minutes or so, until the onions start to soften and then add the broccoli. Cook for an additional 2 minutes or so.
- Give your sauce a quick stir and then pour on top of the broccoli. Keep stir-frying until the broccoli is desired texture ( little crunch) This will take a few minutes. The sauce will go from liquid to a thicker glaze consistency as water evaporates
- Serve over cooked rice, pasta, or with chicken
