In the last few months, I’ve become a HUGE fan of ground chicken! Although I still love ground turkey (mostly for the price and the fact that it’s easy to find), ground chicken has been creeping into my shopping cart almost every week.
It might be all in my head, but ground chicken almost tastes like sausage. There’s definitely a different flavor to it than ground turkey.
How many calories are in ground chicken
There’s a few extra calories in ground chicken than regular chicken, but it’s not too much that I would avoid it. Ground chicken is sometimes mixed with sugar or other additives.
I’ve been buying the Jennie-O brand, and it has for every 4 ounces:
- 150 calories per four ounces
- 20 grams protein
- 0 g carbs
- and 8 grams of fat
So, for dinner, I decided to replace my typical ground turkey in stuffed peppers, and make ground chicken stuffed peppers instead. I also added some rice, light sour cream and fat free cheese, and it was AMAZING!
So, add this chicken version of stuffed peppers on your next meal plan. Your whole family might like it as much as mine did!
