When you make your burgers bunless, you’ll not only save on carbs, but calories too! For only 248 calories, 27 grams of protein, 6 grams of carbs (all from veggies), and 14 grams of fat, you get avocado, mushrooms, sprouts, red onion, tomato and lettuce on this 93% lean ground turkey burger.

Team Bun or Bunless?
I love a good bun! In fact, I love all sorts of bread. I was able to get to my ideal weight, without EVER eliminating carbs. (read my weight loss story here).
But, I also love a good way to save on calories from one thing like a bun, and add them to other delicious toppings and condiments. And this turkey burger is no exception!
Instead of a bun, I used all sorts of veggies to flavor up the burger. I didn’t need anything to hold it together, cause I simply ate it with a fork. Why not? It was dinner at a table after all. Eating a burger doesn’t always have to mean you are on the go eating with your hands.

How to make turkey burgers
Start with 4 ounces of lean ground turkey. Stir in seasonings. Form into a patty, and cook on a grill or skillet until the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F.

Instructions
- To keep calories low on turkey burgers, use 93% or 94% lean meat. Portion into 4 ounce patties.
- Add seasonings to raw turkey meat.
