Can we talk about the latest craze, #CHAFFLES? Popular in the keto community, I only learned about it a few weeks ago when my husband took a river rafting class. One of the ladies in his group would bring her sandwich on the river, and instead of bread, she simply combined cheese and eggs to make a low calorie chaffle!
And even though I love bread, this low calorie bread alternative really hits the spot!
This idea for a chaffle was reason #2 I wanted to buy a Dash mini waffle maker. Reason #1 was to make these delicious low calorie waffles here!
But, to make this ULTRA low calorie, high protein, low carb, and low fat, I used egg whites, fat free cheese, and my new Mini Waffle Maker!
I LOVE THIS WAFFLE MAKER!! (Amzn link here, but I got mine at Target)
You can do this on a regular waffle iron, and just use 1/4 of the iron. You can also double or triple the recipe and make it a full size waffle.
To make a chaffle, simply whisk together some cheese and eggs. I used egg whites, and fat free cheddar. Fat free cheddar cheese can be difficult to find. The only place I’ve been able to purchase this is at Walmart. Your stores might be different, but Walmart definitely has this under their Great Value brand.
Then, once you whisk together your ingredients, spray a mini waffle maker and pour the egg and cheese on it. Then, just cook it till it’s done.
I hope to make more variations on the chaffle soon, so If you have a favorite variation or sandwich you like to use for this low calorie chaffle, let me know in the comments. But in the meantime, enjoy this low calorie chaffle!

Just tired these and omg my new favorite thing to make! So easy and delicious. My new base for my breakfast sandwiches.
Thanks for sharing Sarah! This IS a great substitute!
Tip, add ground caraway seed for a rye bread flavor.
Interesting! Will have to try it.
How do I measure the egg whites? Doesnβt seem like they will measure correctly with a measuring spoon. How many eggs did you use to get the correct amount?
If you whisk the egg whites, it’s quite easy to measure! I use liquid egg whites from a carton though. If you use regular eggs, one or two egg whites is plenty!
Thank you! I’m looking for low carb, low calorie, and high fiber chaffle recipe. I’m going to use this recipe as a base and add in Chia seeds or ground Flax.
