How do you stuff a Chicken Breast?
Brief explanation: Insert a spoonful or 2 of the stuffing mixture into the center of your chicken breast. Wrap it up and secure it with a tie or toothpicks for cooking.
More in-depth: Start by either cutting a slit into your chicken (2-3 inches in the thickest part) or pounding out the chicken into a thinner layer. This is because you need a larger surface area if you are going to add a filling to your chicken and wrap it all together.
Then, carefully add some of your stuffing mixture to the pocket or center of your flattened chicken breast. Be careful not to add too much, as it will just spill out and create a mess.
Once you have added the stuffing to the chicken breast, prepare it for cooking. You can do this by wrapping up the chicken breast, folding over any loose edges and containing the mixture in the middle. If needed, use a piece of string or toothpicks to hold the whole thing together while cooking. Then, you are ready for cooking!
Note: If you add string or toothpicks for cooking, make sure to remove those before serving the chicken.
How to make these Stuffed Chicken Breasts:
1.First, you want to gather up your ingredients! The nice thing is, this tasty chicken recipe only calls for 3 ingredients. It doesn’t get much simpler than that!
For this recipe you need:
- 1 lb chicken breast- pounded till thin and cut into 4 equal pieces
- 1 cup broccoli, chopped finely
- 2 ounces light cream cheese
2. Next, you want to prepare your chicken. Lay chicken breasts flat on a cutting board and hit them until they are about 1/4 of an inch thick. Cut into 4 equal portions.
3. Then, make your filling mixture. In order to do this, simply combine the broccoli and cream cheese in a bowl. Mix them together until they are fully combined.
4. Stuff chicken breasts with cream cheese and broccoli mixture. Add 1/4 of the mixture to the center of each of the 4 chicken pieces. Roll them up and secure with a toothpick.
5. Cook cream cheese broccoli stuffed chicken breasts and enjoy!
To cook these stuffed chicken breasts, you will want to heat a large skillet and add a very light coating of olive oil to the bottom of the pan.
Cook chicken breasts on each side, until the center of the chicken is cooked thoroughly and internal temperature reaches 165 degrees. When the breasts are fully cooked, remove them from the heat, rest for a minute, and then serve!
*Season accordingly! I usually just add a sprinkle of salt and pepper to my food, but you could definitely try a lemon pepper rub, Season All, garlic salt, or even Tony Chachere’s creole seasoning.
